Who Can Use POV

POV is strictly for users aged 14 to 18. Users outside this range are not permitted to access the platform. We're working on something cool for everyone else — stay tuned!

What We Collect

To provide a fun and secure experience, we collect:

During Sign-Up:

• Birthdate – To confirm you're between 14–18.
• Phone Number – For verification and account security.
• Name & Username – So friends can find and identify you.
• Email – For updates, notifications, and account recovery.
• School – Helps connect you with your community.
• Profile Picture – Optional, helps with recognition.
• 6-Digit Pincode – For secure logins.

Optional Permissions (you’ll be asked first):

• Contacts – To find friends already on POV.
• Calendar – May support future event-related features.
• Notifications – To keep you in the loop.
• Camera & Album – For your profile picture.
• Location – To suggest your school during sign-up.

Note: POV only uses location once during onboarding. We do not track your live location. You can also choose your school manually.

How We Use Your Info

We use your data to:

✅ Verify your account and make sure you're within the approved age range.
✅ Recommend your school based on location.
✅ Help you connect with friends and classmates.
✅ Customize your experience, including leaderboards and the POVs you send or receive.
✅ Send you updates about new features or deals.
✅ Secure your account with password recovery and support.
✅ Improve features, including the in-app e-commerce experience.

What We Don’t Do:

❌ We don’t read or store messages (POV doesn’t support DMs).
❌ We don’t keep or share your photos, except your profile pic.
❌ We don’t track your movements.
❌ We never sell your data.

Locked vs Editable Info

The following info cannot be changed after registration:

❌  Name
❌  Username
❌  Birthdate
❌  School
❌  Phone number
❌  Email

What you can change:

✅  Profile picture
✅  Pincode

Data Visibility & Accessibility

• Other Users can only see:
• Your name, username, school, profile picture, top POVs, and POVs sent.
• Your phone number, email, and pincode are not visible to other users.
• POV Team has access to your info strictly for operations, support, and safety.
• Law Enforcement – Data will only be disclosed if legally required.

Reporting & Safety Measures

POV is designed to promote positive and safe interactions. If you encounter inappropriate behavior or something suspicious, you can:

• Report a user – Flag behavior directly in the app.
• Block a user – Stop unwanted interactions anytime.
• Use the app safely – Never share your personal details with strangers.

Our team reviews all reports promptly to help maintain a positive space.

Data Security Measures

We implement strong security protocols to protect your information. This includes:

• Encrypted data for account info
• Secure servers for storage
• Strict access controls

User Controls & Data Management

You're in control of your data. You can:

• Change your profile picture anytime
• Update your pincode
• Manage permissions (disable notifications, contacts, location)
• Unsubscribe from emails
• Delete your account via the "Edit Profile" section

Once deleted, your data is permanently removed (unless required by law).

E-Commerce on POV

POV allows users aged 14–18 to buy exclusive deals from local F&B merchants.

We use your data to:

• Enable purchases
• Show deals relevant to your area or school
• Track coupon redemptions and history

Merchants only see your name for verification — they do not receive your phone number, email, or other personal data. Payment info is securely processed by trusted partners and never stored by POV.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, you’ll be notified in the app.

Using POV after updates means you agree to the new terms.

Child Safety Standards Against CSAE (Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation)

At POV, protecting our users (below 18) from child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is our highest priority. We strictly prohibit any form of abuse, exploitation, grooming, or harmful behavior on our platform. Our policies and practices are designed to actively prevent, detect, and remove any CSAE-related risks.

• No text messaging, photo sharing, video sharing, voice notes, or public posting is allowed on POV.
• No user-generated content (UGC) is permitted beyond sending a simple, anonymous "POV" (positive tag) to friends.
• No external links or downloadable media are allowed.

This limits opportunities for exploitation, solicitation, or inappropriate content sharing.

• POV is only accessible to users aged 14–18.
• Users must confirm their date of birth upon registration.
• Accounts showing evidence of false age declarations or suspicious behavior are investigated and removed.

• Users can easily report any suspicious activity through the in-app reporting tools.
• Our team reviews and acts immediately upon all reports, including:
• Investigating accounts.
• Suspending or banning users.
• Reporting suspected CSAE cases to relevant authorities.

• POV collects minimal personal data to protect user anonymity and reduce privacy risks.
• We do not sell or share user data with third parties.
• Our systems are secured to prevent unauthorized access.

POV is fully committed to complying with all relevant child protection laws in Malaysia, including:

• Child Act 2001 (Act 611): Safeguarding children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
• Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 (Act 792): Prohibiting grooming, sexual communication, and distribution of child exploitation materials online.
• Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588): Ensuring digital communications do not contain obscene, threatening, or exploitative content.
• Penal Code (Amendment 2017): Criminalizing offenses related to child pornography and online exploitation.
• Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA): Protecting personal data of our users, especially minors.
